7-Zip updated, can now unpack .EXE and more

0

Well, it’s been more than a year since our favorite archive manager has been updated. Not only does it sit proudly in our list of software essentials, it’s also one of the most lightweight yet versatile system utilities I’ve ever used. 7-Zip 9.2 has been released, including dozens of bugfixes and includes new capabilities such as the unpacking of .EXE files and .FLV files.

7-Zip is a great, free alternative to the popular WinRAR and WinZip utilities. 7-Zip is officially supported in all versions of Windows, and Linux users can grab a hold of unofficial variants when they’re updated as well. Get yourself a copy of 7-Zip at its official website, which can be found here.
