Use Core Temp to determine your CPU’s temperature
0Back when I reviewed the Belkin Laptop Cooling Pad, I had to find some sort of tool that would allow me to determine the temperature of my CPU to see if the cooling pad would actually cool down my computer. I did a big of searching here and there, and came across an Intel Atom compatible utility called Core Temp.
What is Core Temp? Core Temp is a system utility for Windows designed to determine information about various CPU variables, such as voltage and temperature. Turns out, Core Temp is compatible with the Intel Atom CPU. For those who overclock, making sure the CPU’s temperature isn’t too high is a necessity. Using Core Temp, you can keep an eye out for when your netbook gets too hot. There’s even extra Windows 7 taskbar integration features – and a counter will sit in your task tray that will display the temperature of your CPU.
So if you’re worried about your netbook overheating, I’d recommend trying out this utility. Eee PC users with Super Hybrid Engine must be wary of how hot their computer gets when Super Performance is toggled on. It’s free, and supports all versions of Windows. Check it out.
