Internet Explorer 9 Release Candidate

The release candidate for Microsoft’s upcoming browser Internet Explorer 9 was released today – with faster performance and support for more web standards. A feature called Tracking Protection can now be used, a tool that allows you to disable third-party tracking – IE9′s answer to concerns about online privacy, most notably about how advertisers track users to show them ads of interest. Check after the break for the download.

Microsoft says that this version of IE9 is faster than its previous betas by 35%, with extended support for HTML5 and geolocation features. IE9 RC’s interface takes up the least screen space of all major browsers, including Opera and Chrome.

IE9 can be installed on Windows Vista and 7, but does not support XP (sorry, guys, you’ll have to stick with IE8, use an alternative browser, or upgrade). Snatch a copy of IE9 RC here.
