Open any application using the “Run” box
2Scrolling through the start menu to launch a program hidden deep within the “All Programs” folder can be a hassle – and pinning everything to the taskbar isn’t very efficient either, especially with programs you only need to run once or twice. Using the “Run…” box, you can open some applications at light speed like Paint using “mspaint” – but it won’t work with “opera” or “firefox”. By adding a few registry entries, you can open programs using the “Run…” box alone – saving you time.
Created by the folks over at AskVG, “Run it” is a portable utility that will ask you to select a program, then create a program reference in the registry so you can open it using the “Run…” box. Don’t seem to have the “Run…” shortcut on your Start Menu? Right click on the start orb and select “Properties”. Open the “Start Menu” tab, click “Customize”, and check off the box that says “Run Command”.

Brian,
Just a small tip: you can hit the Win+R keys to access the Run box even more faster.
Thanks for sharing the tip, Valerian!
