Windows 8 New Task Manager(s) Unveiled
3The folks over at WinRumors have gotten a few screenshots of the new Task Manager that’s built into the next version of Windows, known simply as “Windows 8″ for now (no official name has yet to be given). It sports a new, overhauled interface including several optimizations for tablet users. Another photo after the break.
The new dashboard of the Task Manager includes CPU, Memory, Network, and Disc load in various graphs, a large step from the current task manager that only shows CPU and memory usage. Opening the tabs will bring you to the processes and services list.
Note how the task manager in the image above is called “Advanced Task Manager”. Windows 8 actually has two task managers at the moment, image below.
This task manager is called “Modern Windows Task Manager”. The task list divides tasks into multiple categories, namely, Windows Programs, Background Programs, and open Applications. This makes it easier to tell which tasks you can kill and which ones you shouldn’t touch – the current Task Manager in Windows 7 just shows a big long list with virtually no form of organization if you open up the processes tab. The big icons and buttons make it easier for tablet users to use.
It is suspected that the Advanced Task Manager goes with the standard Windows 8 Interface and the Modern Windows Task Manager goes with the tablet interface.

Tweated!! Interesting… more than I expected from a OS that will come out a few years later after Win7… which is too fast!
Yeah, I was a little surprised too that Windows 8 was coming out so soon after Windows 7. I think Windows 7′s lifespan will be extremely long, maybe even longer than XP’s even, because it’s definitely a great OS.
Yea… too bad XP is going to be discontinued after 2014 according to AskVG. Damn.
Win8 is probably more for “power users”. That’s my guess. :3
