Windows 8 is coming soon, and boy, has it changed. Sporting a complete overhaul of the familiar desktop, Windows 8 greets you with its new touch-friendly tiled interface, as we slowly turn towards tablets and touchscreen-enabled devices instead of traditional mouse and keyboard setup. Microsoft has released a developer preview build of Windows 8, free for download, if you want to try it out. Since it’s a developer preview however, I wouldn’t recommend installing it right onto your machine – instead, use a virtual machine, so if it crashes, your main system is still intact. In our first ever video tutorial, we’ll show you how to do exactly that and get Windows 8 up and running in a virtual machine.

No doubt about it, YouTube is the number one online video portal, with millions of videos online and hundreds of hours of video uploaded each minute. It’s mostly the content and vast quantity of videos that draw viewers in, something other video sites can’t compete against. When you dig a little deeper though, you’ll find that YouTube doesn’t provide the best viewing experience for its users all the time – with excessive advertising blocking access to video content, and the inability to natively download videos to be viewed while offline or on a portable media player. Thankfully, there are two Opera extensions that can fix both those problems and make using YouTube a more pleasant experience.
As requested, here is a round of Beat Hazard using one of the built-in tracks. The video doesn’t have any explanation as the gameplay goes, but it’s what your average game of Beat Hazard is like. The difficulty chosen is Hardcore, which is the middle difficulty after unlocking the harder Insane and Suicidal difficulties. Throughout the video you’ll see the various types of enemies found in Beat Hazard, including a boss ship. Enjoy!
